Elmore crushed Exeter St Thomas in their last match 8-0 but it was not enough to take the eagles out of the bottom three. Steve Rowlands, Matt Harvey and Kharl Kirby all scored twice for Elmore, Kevin Mills and Brett Worbey once. The game was also the end of the road for St Thomas, who will inform the League this week that they are folding up. Club secretary Cedric Chapple said the old brigade is no longer there, interest has dwindled and there is little point in carrying on.
Runners up Axminster Town hosted Senior 4 champions Witheridge in their last game, then applauded them onto the field before beating their visitors 4-1. Dillon Hawkins 2, Graham White and Joel Seward scored for the tigers who finish just a point behind the mid Devon side.
SATURDAY MAY 10
A relieved but very happy Halwill clinched promotion and runners up in Senior 2 after a nerve racking and tough 2-1 victory against St Loyes, who in turn gave it their best shot. The Exeter side were within ten minutes of scuppering Halwill hopes after getting back to 1-1 with a penalty, but the North Devon side conjured up a late winner for rare scorer Adam Bewes after excellent work by manager Andy Winser and Andy Wonnacott. Ben Harris was the St Loyes scorer. Victory for Halwill means that Upottery finish third with Sidbury missing out as they slip to fourth.
In the same division Newtown won an amazing game at North Tawton 8-4. Newtown were 4-0 up in twenty minutes but then let in four goals by half-time, so had to repeat their four card trick in the second half. Barnstaple Town made sure of fifth place when they won 2-0 at the University.
Willand Rovers consolidated fifth place in Senior 1 on their own when they won 5-1 at Exmouth Amateurs but only after going behind to a Mike Gibson goal. Mike Wise, George Rogers, Sam Williams, Danny Jee and Mike Humphreys shared the Willand goals. The Amateurs are likely to be relegated along with Exeter St Thomas, and the third relegation slot will be resolved tonight between Elmore and the University. The college will be safe if they win at Culm while Elmore host St Thomas hoping the students slip. *If the University are relegated then their Senior 3 side will also have to go down a division.
Westexe Rovers wound up their season with a 3-2 win against Broadclyst Social Club. Rovers scorers were Jamie Broomfield, Neil Stuckey and a Jason Manley penalty.
Heavitree Social Utd took runners up spot in Senior Three after crushing rivals Beacon Knights 5-1. Four goal Joey Hawes and Ben Henderson breached the Knights defence, but both teams are likely to be promoted.

Kye Smith and Alex Shepherd led the rush with four goals, Sam Holmes netted twice and Phil Dart and Kyle Hall scored singles.
Chard Town drew 1-1 with Bampton in a superb game after equalising in the last minute through Darren Stewart. The ponies who finish fourth scored their goal in the third minute from Stuart Bolt.

MIDWEEK
MAY 7
Otterton could be playing Premier football next season for the first time in their history after they clinched third place in Senior 1 with a 2-0 win against the University. Otterton were given a stiff test by the college but came good with Mark Dunn and Simon Tuley goals and they overtake Seaton Town who drop to 4th. Providing the Otters pass the ground inspection next week the village side will join the elite, exactly a decade after they were formed and then relegated in their first season.
With the University losing at Otterton, relegation Senior 1 rivals Elmore took advantage with a 7-0 drubbing of Exmouth Amateurs to draw level with the students. Kharl Kirby 2, Neil Wilkinson, Brett Worbey, Kevin Mills, Matt Leach and veteran Mark Saulhunt shared the eagles goals. Elmore play their last match against St Thomas on monday with hope they can better what the University do in their last game at Culm the same night.

Pinhoe slumped 4-0 to Senior 4 champions Morchard Bishop, and that means the pins will end in the bottom three whatever they manage in their last game, as their goal difference is so poor.
Witheridge missed the chance of becoming Senior 4 champions after they were beaten 3-1 at Clyst Valley. 16 year old Kai Feller and Josh Hicks scored for Clyst, and if Witheridge fail to beat Tedburn on saturday they face a title showdown with second place Axminster next week.
SATURDAY MAY 3
Otterton are all set to snatch third place in Senior 1 from Seaton Town tomorrow night (wed May 7)if they beat the University in their biggest ever league match. The Otters moved into position with a 5-2 win at Elmore and are on the verge of making the grade into Premier football. Two goals each for Kevin Pitts and Tom Bishop, with Simon Tuley also scoring, confirmed the win but it also left the eagles in dire trouble, and they have to beat Exmouth Amateurs tomorrow to have any chance of safety. Willand Rovers top three hopes died at Newtown where the division runners up won 3-2. Two goals from Corey O'Donaghue and a Ross Walker strike leaves Willand needing to win one of their last two games to finish fifth. East Budleigh occupy that slot after their 1-0 win against Alphington. Luke Kelsall was the Budleigh scorer while the Alphas look safe as they have a better goal difference than Elmore. The East Devon village side made history and crowned another brilliant season with goals from Bruce Leaman 2, Dave Clare and Andrew Lord. Sidbury Utd were held to a 1-1 draw by the University and edge into the top three, but to stay there must now hope that Halwill lose their last match on saturday against St Loyes. Matt Channing was the Sidbury scorer. St Loyes were 3-1 winners at champions Bow AAC and avoid the drop. Matt Lyneley, Ben Harris with a screamer and Jimmy Lee-Shaw scored for the Saints. Mark Searle was the Bow scorer. North Tawton are also safe after beating Honiton Town 3-1. Mark Bowles was the Honiton scorer. Damien Furneval with two goals, Dave Walker and Joe Crooks were the Dawlish scorers. Lympstone finish second from bottom despite their 4-4 draw against Barnstaple. Karl Bassett, Kim Garnsworthy, James Beverly and Liam Ellis shared the Lympstone goals.
Lapford may have done enough to avoid the drop from Senior 3 after their 3-3 draw at Uplowman Athletic. It takes them a point clear of South Zeal with both teams having one match to play. Olaf Mclennan, Luke Skinner and Mark Williams with a penalty scored for Lapford. Oran Trump, Ricky Baker and Dave Smith were on target for Uplowman. Champions Morchard Bishop won 7-2 at Tipton St John with manager Warren Patmore and Liam Scholfield both netting twice. Sam Andrews, Matt Woodward and Ross Breally also scored. Adrian Small and Dave Strawbridge with a penalty replied for Tipton. Promoted Heavitree Social Utd were two down at home to Colyton but recovered to draw 2-2. Winkleigh and Kentisbeare shared a 4-4 draw although the home side let a 4-2 lead ebb away. Simon Bolt and Andrew Glanville both scored twice for Winkleigh.
Axminster Town are still keeping the pressure on Senior 4 leaders Witheridge after their 4-0 win at Woodbury. Richie Emmett with two goals, Terry Emmett and Joel Gosling scored for the tigers. Tedburn St Mary were unable to raise a side to travel to Chard Town.
The Senior 5 champions Phoenix Club acheived their target to go the entire league season unbeaten when they drew 1-1 at Ottery St Mary. Aaron Lee was the Phoenix scorer and their man of the match, but Ottery having equalised from Scott Halliday came close to beating the Exeter side. The other game played between Broadclyst Social Club and Exmouth Amateurs closed the curtain on this division. Broadclyst won the match 2-1 with Alan Curgenven claiming both goals.
TEAM OF THE DAY - UPOTTERY
